Mission Statement

To provide a stress free environment for our frontline workers and veterans by offering a safe place for healing and redeveloping a sense of purpose.

Vision Statement

To create a safe, working ranch environment for mental and emotional healing from the effects of work place Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Purpose Statement

The purpose of the non profit corporation is to provide a safe environment for self discovery and the understanding of the “unspoken effects of PTSD”. By providing an environment free of trigger points, our participants will have the opportunity to experience the empowerment to move safely towards their recovery journey.

Impacting Lives

It's amazing how spending just a few moments with these animals can cleanse my mind of the things that never got a chance to be dealt with.
The subconscious secrets lost in my head just needed a reason to get out.
Spending some time with the Llamas and Alpacas, earning their trust by patience, calm, and kindness has opened up a clearer pathway to my own recovery.
This experience has given me a solid reason to take the next step into recovery.
The open space, quite and solitude reminded me that I have a life worth living.
I never thought I would be the one asking for help.
Once I learned how to manage the imagery and the rush of memories that came with it, I was able to find order in my chaotic world.

Before launching this she spent 23 years in Healthcare to include leadership and as a front line worker herself. Heather MacKenzie

Heather has extensive leadership experience in relationship development, management and marketing at companies ranging from pre-revenue startups to industry giants such as General Electric, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble. She was part of the US SheEO launch team in 2016. In addition, Heather is an internationally-acclaimed keynote speaker on topics ranging from mental health to the importance of funding diverse companies. Heather serves as an advisor on founder mental health.

George Begnaud

George is the co-founder of "A Haven for Heroes". He was compelled by his own PTSD experiences to help others find their healing path. He is a Denver native, a highly decorated Navy veteran and a 30 year structural fire fighter. He is Jesuit educated, a "Man for others", and has a Masters in Management. George brings global volunteer experience along with personal recovery to share with H4H.
